No fan club worth its salt is legit without a blog. At least that’s what we’ve been told. So here we are, blogging for the first time ever. This is actually the first of many changes in the pipeline, but we’ll get to that in a later post.
With the Steelers offseason firmly upon us and the Pens trending in the wrong direction, it's time to finally tackle a long simmering project. We’re gathering material to compile a semi-official written history of Pittsburgh fan gatherings in Boston.
The plan is to go back to 1996, when Pittsburgh fans first started gathering at the Sports Depot in Allston. That's the date of the earliest organized gatherings we’re aware of, though we could be totally wrong about that.
Drop us a line if you want to contribute to this project in any way. We’re specifically looking for pictures from the Sports Depot era, but are also interested in hearing from anyone who wants to share their perspective on the local history of yinzers watching Pittsburgh sports and connecting over our shared love for all things black and gold.
